#SnapSchool
With the slogan: “Life's more fun when you live in the moment”, it's no wonder Snapchat is the preferred social media of teens.
And speaking of a "moment", that's pretty much all the time you get to view a picture and message on Snapchat before they disappear. Users can add short 60 second videos into a daily “Story”. This story will last 24 hours before also disappearing.
With the "Discover" feature, companies like McDonald's and Taco Bell are flocking to Snapchat to reach young consumers.
The NBA is giving behind-the-scenes footage from their sports worlds. CNN is reporting news content.
The world of education is also recognizing the tremendous potential of reaching teens through Snapchat.

How teachers are using Snapchat in the classroom
AskSnap - Ask a question on Snapchat before class to get them curious and thinking even before they walk through the door. Students can reply with a snap even before class!
Ask a question after class to help students summarize and assess what they learned.
VocabSnap - Add snaps of funny, interesting or beautiful pictures with vocabulary words as the text caption. Have students post a snap with the vocabulary word as a caption. This is also used for learning a second a language. Kari, a Spanish teacher, has students add text captions in Spanish to pictures for extra class participation credit. Language teachers have also increased motivation by creating a caption competition.
BookSnap - Students snap their progress and thoughts about their reading material, incorporating "Bitmojis" and other stickers to express themselves. The text and drawing features allow students to highlight interesting paragraphs or quotes. Check out my Booksnap
StorySnap - Gets the whole class working together in a storytelling exercise in a particular genre. A student begins the story with a Snapchat video. The next student continues the story with their own video addition, continuing onto the next...
MathSnap - Students create videos explaining how they found a solution to an equation. Students take pictures of a math problem, pose questions and send to their peers to form a virtual after school study group. Students get creative formulating math problems using photos they take and challenging their peers to solve them.
ScienceSnap - Students capture real world examples of science in action. This can be used as an assessment. Using Snapchat video, psychology professor Michael Britt, sends live examples of his psychology content, ten seconds at a time . His students report this not only made learning engaging, but breaking it down, made it more manageable. Check out an example of his video snaps on the topic of deindividuation:
